These appointments are suitable for:

• Discussing your concerns and questions with Claire, paediatric specialised speech therapist.

• Gaining strategies to lift your child’s communication tailored to their needs.

• Gaining speech therapy activities that you can use at home or out and about with your child.

• Determining what best supports you and your child require. This can include information on other services you may want, suggestions to appropriate websites and referrals (when required).

Who attends? These can be either parent only or parent and child. If you and your child want to attend the appointment, you can set up your phone, tablet or laptop in your child’s play space and be playing along side your child while talking with, Claire, our speech therapist.

Pre-requisites:

Prior to the first teletherapy appointment the Client Information Profile will need to be completed.

Note on assessment: these appointments are best suited to Initial Screening and therapy appointments and are generally not used for in-depth assessments. If your child requires an in-depth assessment, most often this will be a face to face appointment, unless circumstances apply that you and the therapist agree on. Please contact Claire to discuss.

Teletherapy is available for children with:

• Delayed language (vocabulary, sentences, understanding instructions, comprehension of sentences, grammar)

• Feeding (chewing, drooling, swallowing, drinking, texture and taste preferences, restricted or limited diet)

• Fluency / stuttering

• *Speech sounds (pronunication / articulation) - it is recommended that an initial assessment is completed face to face plus additional appointments depending on the child’s speech difficulty. Please discuss with the speech therapist.
